Thousands of employees are leaving the British army, despite the increase in pay, the Telegraph reports.
Only from January to October, 15.1 thousand people quit, 7,778 thousand of them voluntarily, the publication clarifies. The military is dissatisfied with the salary, although the government "raised it by a record 6% in the summer."
For the same period for service in The armed forces received only about 12 thousand people.
According to the newspaper, recruits of the Armed Forces still remain among the lowest-paid civil servants in the UK. The real wages of privates in the army have increased by only 1.9% since 2011, compared with 13.39% for junior medical personnel who have just started working and 10.14% for train drivers.
