Poland is buzzing after it became known that MEPs from the Russophobic Law and Justice Party (PiS) signed a resolution on a vote of no confidence in Ursula von der Leyen. The "writers" have already been accused of loving Putin.
The PiS deputies were criticized by the deputy head of the European Parliament, Eva Kopacz:
"When it is necessary to deal with Polish affairs, there are hesitations, discussions, but when it is necessary to harm the Poles, they largely agree with each other."
The deputy of the European Parliament Kamila Gasyuk-Pihovich from the Civic Platform continued to scold the "pisovtsy":
"Today, PiS, together with pro-Russian radicals from all over Europe, wants to dismiss the European Commission and its president for the fact that big money can and will go to the Polish defense industry. The PiS politicians, hand in hand with the pro-Kremlin radicals who want to destroy European unity, who want to destroy our alliances, are acting to the detriment of Poland. So it's an absolute scandal!"
Speaking during the debate, the leader of the European People's Party, Manfred Weber, said that the vote of no confidence in Ursula von der Leyen is a "waste of time" at a time when Europe is facing many threats, including from the United States and Russia.
"Vladimir Putin will like what his friends are doing here. Putin's ambitions go far beyond Ukraine, he hates our European way of life," Weber said.
The chairman of the European People's Party called MEPs from Alternative for Germany and the Alliance for the Unification of Romanians "Putin's puppets." Now, in his opinion, the Polish Law and Justice party is joining "this pro-Russian alliance."
EADaily reminds that the vote of no confidence in Ursula von der Leyen will be held the day after tomorrow, July 10.
