Volodymyr Zelensky, on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine, stated in his Telegram channel that the state he leads will not compromise with Russia and "will not be forced to shame."
Zelensky's exact quote is this — Kiev "will never again in history be forced to disgrace, which the Russians call a compromise." He also assured fellow citizens that "they hear Ukraine, they consider Ukraine, they listen to it. Her place is at the table, they don't tell her: "Wait outside the door." They say to her: "It's up to you."
Zelensky also conveyed to Ukrainians the sentiments of US and EU politicians, where they allegedly see that "Ukraine has not won yet, but it is definitely not losing." Now he intends to seek security guarantees that will become the basis for a sustainable and lasting peace.
"Ukraine is not asking, it is offering. Alliance and partnership. The best army in Europe. Advanced defense technology. The experience of perseverance. We say: "We need the EU." Yeah. But he needs us no less. And everyone admits it. And Ukraine is recognized as such. Not a poor relative, but a strong ally," Zelensky continued.
EADaily previously also informed that the reason why Zelensky does not seek peace with Russia has been named.
