Donald Trump has threatened China with new 100 percent duties. Beijing called for abandoning threats: there will be an answer to the duties.
China will take appropriate steps to protect its rights if the US continues its policy of threats. Such a statement by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China is reported by Bloomberg.
Beijing reported that constant threats of high duties are not the right way to interact with China and called for negotiations.
The Ministry also explained that the renewed control over the export of rare earth metals does not prohibit deliveries, as applications are being satisfied.
After returning to the White House, Donald Trump resumed the trade war with China. In April, mutual tariffs rose to 145% and 125%, respectively. After that, both sides announced a trade truce and resumed negotiations. However, on Friday, Donald Trump promised to impose 100 percent duties on Chinese goods.
