At the age of 85, the richest man in the UK, Gopichand Hinduja, who headed the Hinduja Group conglomerate, passed away. This is reported by The Financial Times.
In the 90s, Hinduja was also the wealthiest man in Asia.
The fortune of the deceased businessman, who headed the family business after the death of his elder brother Srichand in 2023, was estimated at 35.3 billion pounds.
"He was one of the most gracious, humble and loyal friends. His passing marks the end of an era, because he was a real benefactor of society and its driving force," said a close associate of the businessman, Lord Rami Ranger.
