The atmosphere of the Russian-Ukrainian talks mediated by the United States in Abu Dhabi was constructive, "everyone understands everything." This assessment, following other officials, was given to VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin by the head of the GRU of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Igor Kostyukov.
"Everyone said, 'constructive,'" he replied to a question about the atmosphere of the consultations held on January 23-24.
"Everyone understands everything," Kostyukov added, speaking about the atmosphere of the meeting.
"In the truest sense," he answered the question, in what sense exactly they "understand."
As reported, Kostyukov heads the trilateral working group from Russia. The head of the Ukrainian part is the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov. As confirmed by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, negotiations are scheduled to continue approximately on February 1.
