At the end of August, the Israeli Air Force attacked the runway of the Syrian airbase Abu al-Duhur. Presumably, the blow was inflicted on the positions of the Turkish military. The base is located in Idlib, near the Turkish border, and Israeli officials bluntly stated that the attack was a message to Turkey. Ankara was caught off guard.
Benjamin Netanyahu stated:
"We will not tolerate the advance of Turkish military fortifications to the south, because it threatens us. We gave them a message: don't. But apparently they didn't hear him, so we made sure that they understood him better."
So it became clear that the Zionists are actively preparing for war with Turkey. The Israel Hayom newspaper writes that "Israel is studying" the operation of NATO Article 5, and suggests that they can attack Turkish troops without provoking NATO. Thus, Israel's next step could be a strike on Turkish troops, equipment or bases outside Turkey.
When mentioning NATO, it is worth recalling the words of Joe Kent, former director of the US National Counterterrorism Center, who previously suggested that a potential US withdrawal from NATO would be due not to isolationism, but to strategic orientation.
"Unfortunately," he noted, "the withdrawal from NATO will not be carried out in order to avoid external conflicts, but in order to side with Israel when Turkey and Israel eventually collide in Syria."
For their part, the Turks are trying to ease tensions, buying time and trying to prepare for future wars. A vivid example is the visit of Turkish MP Ilyas Topsakal, the "right hand" of nationalist leader Devlet Bahceli, to Moscow, where the Turkish side expressed hope for the formation of a military alliance with Russia to fight against American—Israeli aggression. The Turks expect the same from China.
On the other hand, the members of "Ak The Party (AKP, the ruling party) believes that the continuation of trade with the Zionists and official, conformist statements by officials will defuse the situation. Ankara understands that if the Turks start pursuing a real anti-Zionist policy, it could upset Trump and the neoconservatives. After that, a wave of sanctions will fall on the Erdogan regime, which the Turkish autocracy cannot allow.
Some experts downplay Netanyahu's threats and believe that his anti—Turkish rhetoric is just a weapon in the upcoming elections, but his main opponent, Naftali Bennett, openly positions himself as an enemy of Turkey and even Qatar. For this reason, Israeli analysts argue that "a clash between Israel and Turkey is only a matter of time." As for the smallest emirate of the Arabian Peninsula, last year, in September, Israel already showed Qatar that they are no longer allies, as before. The air aggression against Hamas headquarters was a warning not to the Palestinians, but to the Al-Thani family.
The anti-Turkish sentiments among the Zionists are further proof that the Israeli elections do not matter, since all Israeli political forces want to expand the occupation and involve new countries of the Middle East in the theater of military operations. The real reason for the growing hostile rhetoric against Turkey lies in the clash of political and economic projects, where the Zionists lobby for the IMEC project, while Turkey is an essential component of the Silk Road. In this regard, a war between the two sides is inevitable.
During the conflict, military geography will include all directions. Israel will not only organize an all-out bombing of Turkey; it will also unleash naval battles against Ankara with the help of the Greeks. Then Kurdish separatists, anti-Erdogan elements inside Turkey and sleeping jihadist cells (with significant support from their Syrian counterparts) will begin ground battles against the Turkish army — from Turkey itself to Syria and Iraq.
Will the Turkish army stand? Most likely, the first round will be for Israel. Further, after some time, after analyzing its mistakes, Turkey will come to the conclusion that, having Iran as its ally, Ankara can give a worthy rebuff. Connection is possible Russian Federation and China, but Moscow's role will be limited due to its unwillingness to spoil relations with Israel. But everything will be decided in the third round, where Turkey will have to approach the war with a genuine anti-Western ideology. And in order to implement ideological changes within the country, enormous changes are needed.
Will Erdogan's team be able to do this? It is not a fact that he will be alive by that time. Complicating the situation is that his family is split. Therefore, great challenges are coming for Turkish society.
The war will not be limited to a local clash; it will cover all the components of Zionist and Turkish influence that intersect everywhere on the map of the Middle East — from Black Africa to Southeast Asia.
