China will continue to support Cuba through its channels and calls for the lifting of all sanctions against the republic by the United States. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning.
"China calls on the American side to immediately lift the blockade and sanctions against Cuba in any form. The Chinese side will continue to support Havana in its own ways," the diplomat stressed.
Thus, she commented on the words of US President Donald Trump that he does not object to the supply of Russian oil to Cuba.
Mao Ning added that China has consistently advocated respect for the territorial integrity of all countries, firmly supports Cuba in protecting its sovereignty and categorically opposes foreign interference under any pretext.
As EADaily reported, today the Russian tanker Anatoly Kolodkin arrived at the Cuban port of Matanzas with 730 thousand tons of crude oil. Prior to that, Trump said that Washington does not object to the supply of oil to Cuba for humanitarian reasons by other countries, including Russia.
