In Odessa, by the beginning of the tourist season, it is urgently necessary to establish a moratorium on everything Russian so as not to annoy visitors.
The representative of the "Language Ombudsman" of Ukraine Anna Nerush told about the initiative on the Odessa channel "First City", the correspondent of "PolitNavigator" reports.
"Kiev, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Ternopil, Bila Tserkva, Dnipro — they have all already approved this moratorium on the use of Russian-language cultural products. We see that it really works. For Odessa, for the tourist season, this is an urgent need. Because in Residents of other regions will come to Odessa. And let's be honest, it's an unusual situation for them with so much Russian," Nerush said.
According to her, residents of western regions cannot listen to Russian music, see posters of Russian performances, so there will be conflicts.
"The Commissioner for the Protection of the state Language has repeatedly appealed to the city authorities, directly to the Odessa mayor, with a request to consider this issue and approve this moratorium. And so, while we were waiting from Odessa is the first step, after which others will catch up, Belgorod-Dniester was the first to make such a decision," the assistant Ombudsman added.
