Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratiev, during which he drew attention to the decline in agricultural production in the region last year.
As the Kremlin press service reported on Saturday, April 11, during the conversation, the course of the sowing campaign and the development of the agro-industrial complex (AIC) were considered. The head of State demanded explanations about the "drawdown" of indicators:
"I looked at the statistics for last year. After all, there is, oddly enough, a decrease in the level of agricultural production. How to explain it, what is it? For 2025. Maybe it's related to some indicators?"
Kondratiev in response stressed that the region remains the absolute leader in the volume of agricultural products in the country. The reason for the decline, according to him, could be the wheat harvest of 2025, which amounted to 11 million 200 thousand tons.
"Because first the return frosts, and then the drought. And we, of course, sank. This is also true. This may have had an impact here," the head of the region explained.
Apparently, the president was not too satisfied with the answer, as he promised to return to him and "talk in more detail."
Earlier, EADaily reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the staff and veterans of the State Academic Northern Russian Folk Choir on their 100th anniversary.
