Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the open letter of the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, was with elements of rudeness.
The President called such a letter creating conditions for a meeting of leaders to be impossible.
Putin responded to the mention of his age in a letter from the head of the Kiev regime.
"He mentioned there, the author of the letter, about my age. Of course, everyone should think about their age, but it seems to me that at my age many other politicians also carry out their functions," Putin said at the plenary session of the XXIX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The President said that he had been briefed on the contents of the letter by press Secretary Dmitry Peskov. According to Putin, the day before he did not have time to read the document carefully, and in the morning Peskov handed him the paper again, after which the head of state got acquainted with it fluently.
"This morning Peskov slipped me this piece of paper again, I looked at it, so, cursorily, but nevertheless," Putin said.
Speaking about the topic of age, the president stressed that by itself it is not the main criterion for evaluating a politician. According to him, the ability of a person to perform his functions and maintain working capacity is more important.
"The main thing is not age, the main thing is capacity and efficiency," he said.
