This is a new chapter in the issues of deterrence and combat readiness at sea, said German Navy Inspector Vice Admiral Jan Christian Kaak.

"With the successful launch of a ballistic missile last night in the North Atlantic, we have made maritime history. I am very pleased with this result," he said.

According to him, the system can be successfully used from German ships "and the possible range exceeds everything we have had to date."

"From the point of view of protecting Germany and our allies, this test marks a new chapter in the field of deterrence and combat readiness in the naval sphere," Kaak said.

If Berlin decides to purchase Lora, it will become the first ballistic missile in service with Germany since the V-2, used in 1944-1945.
