Ukraine should be ready to abandon Donbass and join NATO. This was stated by Zelensky's former press secretary Yulia Mendel, according to the Telegraph.
"We can't keep dying for a very hypothetical idea of joining NATO," she said.
Earlier, she reported the loss of more than 100 thousand Ukrainian servicemen during 18 weeks of fighting in the north of the DPR.
According to her, in the near future we should expect a mass flight of citizens from Ukraine against the background of the impending collapse of the energy infrastructure.
Yulia Mendel is the former press secretary of Vladimir Zelensky (2019-2021). In recent years, she has become one of his fiercest critics, which has led to sanctions from Kiev and notoriety.
Before entering politics, she worked as a journalist in Ukrainian and foreign media (ICTV, Inter, The New York Times, Politico Europe), interned at Yale University❶*.
In 2019, she won an open competition (more than 4,000 applicants) and became Zelensky's press secretary. She was dismissed in July 2021.
