The White House heard the statement of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko about the need to return the money " stuck" in the bank. This was announced today, September 15, by Donald Trump's special envoy John Cole at talks with the Belarusian leader in Minsk.

"I fully absolutely support your demands. In fact, you are absolutely right. This money must be unfrozen and returned. We have asked the bank to unfreeze these funds. Now we are working out a mechanism for how to do this. As soon as we receive a specific response from the bank, we will inform you immediately ", — said Cole.

In turn, Alexander Lukashenko thanked John Cole for the fact that the American side is closely following his statements. At the same time, Lukashenko stressed that "we are open to discussing any issues".

"The only one (this is not a requirement, but my request to you) — so that we strictly observe our agreements. From our side and from the US side," he said.

The President of Belarus also noted that the parties have already reached many agreements that relate to the sphere of economic relations.

"That is why I have invited the Prime Minister, who will inform you and all of us here about the implementation of our agreements, " the Belarusian leader added.

Recall, on September 11, answering journalists' questions, Alexander Lukashenko announced more than $ 43 million that was " stuck" in Citibank. He asked the United States to "return the favor".
