In the negotiations on the cessation of hostilities on Ukraine has made "significant progress," US President Donald Trump said on the Truth Social network.

"Now I am negotiating peace in the war between Russia and I don't want to do anything that could foolishly force Russia to leave the negotiating table. Significant progress has been made," he wrote.

The head of the White House noted that Kiev continues to strike at Russian oil refineries, although, according to Trump, it is aware of their harm to world diesel fuel markets.

On October 11, Trump announced that Russia and Ukraine has agreed to an energy truce. Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky then said that the words of the American leader were news to him, but expressed readiness for a truce if Russia agrees to it.

A few days later, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that contacts on the issue of the energy truce were continuing, but questions about its achievement were forwarded to Trump.

Earlier, Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to supply Russian diesel to the American and world markets: Russia should send more than 300 thousand tons of fuel, then another 500 thousand tons in November and 1 million tons later, and the possibility of additional supplies of 3 million tons will depend on the state of Russian refineries.

To implement the agreement, the US Treasury issued a general license authorizing operations with Russian diesel until April 7, 2027, and the Russian government partially lifted the export ban, allowing 500 thousand tons of fuel to be supplied to the world market at the first stage.
