Russia would support the nomination of a negotiator from the European Union, but it is important that he seeks a peaceful settlement. This was stated to TASS by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, commenting on reports about the possible proposal of the President of Finland Alexander Stubb for this position.
"If there is a negotiator, it's good. If it is a negotiator who will sincerely strive to contribute to a peaceful settlement, it will be even better," the Kremlin spokesman stressed.
As reported by EADaily, earlier the Kremlin's negotiator with Washington, the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, the head of the RDIF Kirill Dmitriev said that Moscow wants and will interact with Europe, because it is impossible to simply sever historical ties.
