Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Nursultan Nazarbayev on his victory in the race for the presidency of Kazakhstan.
The press service of the Kremlin quotes Putin as saying in his congratulatory message that the results of the election have confirmed that Nazarbayev enjoys high authority in Kazakhstan and that his people supports his policies to take an active part in Eurasian integration projects and to strengthen strategic ties with Russia.
“We are ready to continue our dialogue and our joint efforts to enlarge our relations and to constructively cooperate in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union and other international structures in the interests of the peoples of Russia and Kazakhstan for the sake of peace, stability and security in the continent,” Putin says in his message.
