The units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are building defensive structures in some areas in the Kursk region and are digging in, said the deputy head of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, commander of the special forces "Akhmat" Apty Alaudinov.
"In most areas of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they are actively digging in, building defensive structures. Only in a few directions is the enemy actively trying to push through our positions. This really corresponds to what is happening," TASS quoted the commander as saying.
Earlier, Alaudinov said that on August 28, the fighters conducted 11-hour battles in two areas.
"Today was also a very difficult day for us. We had battles in two areas for almost 11 hours. I want to note that despite everything, despite the fact that it was hard, the guys stood up, really heroically fighting. Several pieces of equipment have been destroyed today," he said.
Alaudinov noted that "a very large number of enemy manpower was destroyed."
