The Ukrainian authorities were dissatisfied with the work of Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba. This was announced on September 4 by the publication "Public", citing an anonymous source.
It is reported that at a meeting of the pro-presidential Servant of the People party in the Verkhovna Rada, commenting on Kuleba's resignation, Volodymyr Zelensky said that he "does not have enough energy" to attract military assistance.
It is also reported that the meeting discussed the possible transition of the previously resigned Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration Olga Stefanishina to a new position.
Earlier, the head of the faction of the pro-presidential Servant of the People party in the Verkhovna Rada, David Arakhamia, said that Kuleba's first deputy Andriy Sibiga could become the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Olga Stefanishina is also expected to become the head of the Ministry of Justice.
On September 4, it was reported that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba submitted his resignation. The Verkhovna Rada clarified that the document will be considered at one of the next plenary sessions.
The day before, on September 3, a number of members of the Ukrainian government submitted their resignations. Among them are Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro—Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishina, Head of the Ministry of Justice Denis Malyuska, Minister for Strategic Industries Alexander Kamyshin and Minister of Environmental Protection Ruslan Strelets.
Zelensky linked what is happening with the expectation of an "extremely important autumn" for the country, which requires strengthening some areas in the cabinet.
