Israel attacked targets in western Syria, Israeli media reported.
"The country's state media reports that Israel has struck targets in coastal cities in western Syria," The Times of Israel said in a publication.
Syrian telegram channels report that Syrian air defense systems "actively opposed enemy targets in Latakia, Jableh and Tartus for more than 40 minutes."
According to telegram channels, several shells were destroyed near Khmeimim, where the Russian air base is located. More than 50 shells were shot down "with the support of the Russian military," the report said.
