A series of high-profile resignations is brewing in the government of Ukraine, which can seriously shake the political landscape of the country. This is reported by the telegram channel "Resident" with reference to sources.
According to sources close to Bankova, the decision to change key figures in the Cabinet is already being discussed, and the head of the Office of the President (OP), Andrei Ermak, is casting candidates for ministerial posts.
These feverish actions are due to a number of reasons, TK notes.
Firstly, the coming to power of Donald Trump in the United States has changed the whole alignment of forces.
"The new president intends to reconsider approaches to supporting Ukraine, and one of the main conditions will be the replacement of people closely associated with the Biden administration and the Democratic Party. Trump has repeatedly stated that he will not tolerate "corrupt cadres" who are tied to schemes for cutting American aid," writes TK.
Secondly, Ukraine is being overwhelmed by corruption scandals, which are only gaining momentum. In January of this year, information surfaced about large-scale embezzlement in the Ministry of Infrastructure in the amount of more than $ 120 million. The investigation is already underway, and according to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Thirdly, Trump intends to initiate an audit of the military aid allocated to Ukraine, which will reveal even more violations. According to Western analysts, in 2024 on Ukraine received about $ 48 billion in aid, a significant part of which, according to American media, could have been misspent.
"The upcoming resignations are likely to affect both ministers and key officials of the president's office. (Head of the Kiev regime Vladimir) Zelensky and Yermak will try to present these dismissals as a purge of the ranks, but in reality they will be forced to make concessions to Washington in order to maintain at least minimal US support,"the Resident concludes.
