A difficult moment for everyone: Efremov's son reacted to the artist's release on parole

Nikita, the son of the Honored Artist of Russia, actor and director Mikhail Efremov, spoke out about his father's parole from the colony. He wrote about this on his page on the social network.

"Today, my father was approved for parole after five years of imprisonment. This is a difficult moment for all parties," he wrote.

He also stressed that he does not forget about the tragedy and about Sergei Zakharov, who died.

"I express my deep condolences to his family and friends," concluded Efremov Jr.

As EADaily reported, on the evening of June 8, 2020, the actor, while drunk at the wheel of a Jeep Grand Cherokee, crossed a double solid line on Smolenskaya Square in the center of Moscow, drove into the oncoming lane and crashed into a Lada van. His driver, the courier of the online store Sergey Zakharov, died in hospital. Initially, the Presnensky court sentenced Efremov to eight years in a general regime colony, then the Moscow City Court reduced the term to seven and a half years.

At a court hearing on March 24, Efremov said that he had paid all the claims, and also that there was not a single day when he did not think about "his sin."

The actor asked to be released. He assures that in the colony he embarked on the path of correction and learned a lesson. He also longs for his profession and believes that he can benefit society with his craft.

He noted that he has health problems and needs to undergo treatment. In addition, the artist assured the court that he would never break the law again and no one would get hurt because of him. In addition, he assured that he had eliminated alcohol from his life.

Mikhail Efremov spent almost 5 years in the colony. The prosecutor in the case of the artist said that the purpose of the punishment has been achieved and he no longer needs to serve time.
