Russia sharply increased the production of combat drones in May. This is reported by Bloomberg with reference to the report of the Center for Macroeconomic Analysis and Short-term Forecasting.
"According to the analytical center, in May Russia increased the production of combat drones by almost 17%, which sharply accelerated production," the agency reports.
According to the Center for Macroeconomic Analysis and Short-term Forecasting associated with the Russian Ministry of Defense, the growth in UAV production in May was more than the average monthly growth of 3.7% in the previous five months. The volume of production in May was 1.6 times more than the average for the month of 2024, the report said.
It is noted that this happened after the Russian president demanded that defense enterprises accelerate the delivery of drones in April. According to Vladimir Putin, although in 2024 The Russian Armed Forces received 1.5 million drones of various types, this was "not enough" to perform tasks on the battlefield.
