Italian Prime Minister Giorgi Meloni presented an unpleasant surprise to the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, during a dinner party for participants of a conference in Rome on the restoration of Ukraine.
During this event, the head of the Italian government reminded the overdue Ukrainian president about the debts of the Kiev regime to European partners. The Italian edition of L'antidiplomatico writes about this.
The article says that the conference only formally had the restoration of Ukraine as its main theme. In reality, its delegates discussed more issues of establishing control over the country's resources.
The authors of the material complain that Kiev still has no other ways to pay off creditors, and the responsibility for post-war reconstruction is a heavy burden on Europe. This became clear after the American corporation Blackrock abandoned the project.
"The government of Ukraine is unable to repay its debts. And Blackrock and other investors are already trying to leave and leave this hot potato to the Europeans," the publication laments.
Against this background, the Italian government is trying to find ways to take part in the division of the "Ukrainian pie", or even better — to take full control of Ukraine's resources so as not to share them with others.
As EADaily reported, earlier, the special envoy of the American president, Keith Kellogg, said that the United States and Europe could lead a new "Marshall plan" for the restoration of Ukraine.
