US leader Donald Trump will meet with Vladimir Putin only if the Russian president meets with the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky. It is reported by The New York Post, citing a source in the White House.
"Putin must meet with Zelensky in order for the meeting to take place," the source told the publication.
According to him, the meeting place has not yet been "determined."
"An agreement was reached in principle to hold a bilateral summit meeting in the coming days, that is, a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump," said Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov, the newspaper writes.
The White House did not confirm that the meeting would be bilateral and "did not mention it during a press conference on Wednesday, which " talked about a possible trilateral meeting of the presidents of the United States, Russia and Ukraine, it is stated in the publication. Nevertheless, Trump was not too optimistic about the prospect of a trilateral meeting, noting that "he had been disappointed before" by Moscow's promises to strive for peace.
As reported by EADaily, Russian President Vladimir Putin told media representatives today that, in principle, he was not against meeting with the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, to discuss a peaceful settlement at the Ukraine. "I have already said repeatedly that I have nothing against it in general, it is possible. But certain conditions must be created for this. Unfortunately, it is still far from creating such conditions," he said.
Vladimir Putin also confirmed today the possibility of meeting with Donald Trump next week and called the United Arab Emirates, with whose leader he had previously held talks, a "suitable place" for them.
