A US Navy Super Hornet fighter jet and a Seahawk helicopter crashed in the South China Sea, all crew members survived, according to a statement by the US Navy's Pacific Fleet on the social network X.
"On October 26, 2025, at approximately 14.45 local time, the US Navy MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter, part of the Battle Cats of the 73rd Attack Helicopter Squadron, crashed in the waters of the South China Sea during routine operations," the fleet said in a statement.
On the same day, but in another incident, a fighter assigned to the 22nd Strike Fighter Squadron crashed while performing scheduled operations from the aircraft carrier Nimitz. The causes of the crash are being established, the Navy notes.
