Foreign mercenaries who could not escape in time when our troops liberated the settlement of Orestopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, surrendered.
This was told to the TASS news agency by the commander of the assault group of the 36th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 29th Army of the Vostok group of forces with the call sign Tim.
"There were foreign mercenaries. Those who were able to escape — they escaped, those who could not — voluntarily laid down their arms," the military said.
He said that the mercenaries themselves say that their goal is to get money for participating in the battles. Ukrainian officers take their documents from them before sending them into battle.
The commander of the assault group of the 36th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 29th Army of the Vostok group of forces with the call sign Doc told the publication that the Ukrainian servicemen also fled from Orestopol, when the storming of this village began.
"We came in suddenly, abandoned small groups, and they started running away. No one entered into a contact battle with us, they ran away from us," the stormtrooper stated.
He explained that the Russian military used motorcycles to approach the settlement, and then went to Orestopol in small groups on three sides.
As EADaily reported, on November 14, Russian units from the Vostok group of forces completed the liberation of the settlement of Orestopol, Dnipropetrovsk region.
