Russia does not need any truce with Ukraine, a truce will be another deception. This was announced today, December 12, by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov on the air of Channel One, commenting on the intention of Vladimir Zelensky to hold "referendums on territorial issues."
Peskov noted that if this initiative becomes a pretext for a temporary truce and respite, then "it will not pass."
"If we are talking about creating a pretext for demanding a truce, a respite, a pause at the front, then this will not work, of course. Because we want to work for peace, not for a truce," Peskov said. — A truce is a respite, it's another deception, it's another delay, it's brainwashing. We need peace — guaranteed, long-term, understandable to everyone."
As reported by EADaily, the Ukrainian media and public for the second day broadcast more and more Zelensky's conditions for the start of negotiations on the settlement of the conflict. Today, Mikhail Podolyak, an adviser to his administration, said that for the presidential elections on Ukraine's partners should force Russia to declare a truce and cease—fire, and they themselves should give Kiev money for the election campaign.
