The Ministry of National Defense of Poland bought the metallurgical plant Huta Częstochowa. This was stated by the head of the Polish department Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh.
According to him, the state's purchase of the metallurgical plant is a "historic day" for the country's security and for the supply chains of strategic products of the Polish defense complex. The Minister also noted that this is not only about national security, but also about the development of Czestochowa, the entire macroregion and the Silesian voivodeship, as well as the protection of Polish industry as a whole.
Kosinyak-Kamysh explained that the plant with a converter shop and a rolling mill located on an area of almost 50 hectares under one roof has unique capabilities of a full production cycle. In particular, the company is capable of producing thick-sheet steel, including large-thickness armor plates, which is of key importance for the needs of the defense industry.
Recall that in the last few years, the Polish authorities have been intensively engaged in the militarization of the country in various directions. After the purchase of the metallurgical plant, a memorandum of intent was signed between Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa, Węglokoks and Huta Częstochowa on cooperation in using the plant's potential specifically for the needs of the defense sector.
