Alexander Bydanov, convicted of an attack with a knife on the governor of the Murmansk region Andrei Chibis, died in the zone of a special military operation.

"On 01/04/2026, during a special military operation, a beloved son, brother, nephew Bydanov Alexander Vladimirovich was killed while performing a combat mission," the report says.
Bydanov attacked Lapwing with a knife on the evening of April 4 immediately after the head of the region went outside from the building of the recreation center "Builder", where he was holding a meeting with residents of the city of Apatity.
After the injury, the governor was conscious and got to the car on his own. Bydanov, who attacked him, was also injured during the arrest.
As reported by EADaily, later Andrei Bydanov explained his act by "the order of the voice in his head." At the same time, he was not registered in a neuropsychiatric clinic. He personally apologized to Chibis at one of the court sessions, which sentenced him to 13 years in a strict regime colony.
