"In Smolensk, investigators of the regional The Investigative Committee of Russia, in cooperation with the operational staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, identified and detained a suspect in the abduction of a 9-year-old girl. She has been found, she is alive," the message on the social network Mach says.
According to a RIA Novosti source, the girl is being examined by doctors on the spot.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, the girl was found in the apartment of a residential building, now her life is not in danger.
"The child was found in the apartment of one of the houses on the territory of the Zadneprovsky district of Smolensk. There was also a man born in 1983. All the circumstances of the incident are being established. Nothing threatens the child's life," the official representative of the department, Irina Volk, writes in her telegram channel.
According to media reports, Alexander Fomenkova was searched for three days and found today. Landmarks were posted all over the city.
