The United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) presented the Amur-1650 submarine project, which will be able to carry Russian-Indian BrahMos supersonic missiles. Details are reported by TASS.
The model of the submarine was shown at the USC stand at the International Naval Salon "Fleet-2026". The development of the Rubin design bureau is planned to be equipped with vertical launchers (VPU) and an air-independent power plant.
The corporation also stressed that Amur has one of the largest ammunition in the world among non-nuclear submarines. The submarine will be able to carry up to 28 rounds of ammunition. The VPU allows it to be armed with BrahMos anti-ship missiles or Kalibr-PL family missiles.
Earlier, the American edition of 19FortyFive wrote that Amur submarines intended primarily for export may not find buyers, as they will face competition from Western European manufacturers.
