Record heat wave covers Europe

In dozens of regions of France, the temperature has exceeded 40 degrees, a red weather hazard level has been declared for more than 50 million people. The National Meteorological Service of France has introduced the maximum warning level in 72 departments of the country.

In Paris, the air warmed up above 40 degrees, a temperature of 43 degrees was recorded on one of the city's scoreboards. Due to the abnormal heat, the Louvre temporarily reduced its opening hours.

In Belgium, due to high temperatures, one of the main symbols of the country, the Atomium in Brussels. The attraction closes in the afternoon, and some tourists are forced to change their plans.

The UK has already updated the June temperature record, forecasters have issued the second extreme heat warning in the country's history.

According to meteorologists, the temperature in some regions of Europe exceeds the climatic norm by almost 18 degrees.
