The Russian Embassy in Sweden was attacked by drones. This was announced today, July 2, by the Russian diplomatic mission.

"On July 2, 2026, at about 2 a.m., the Russian Embassy in Sweden was subjected to another attack using unmanned aerial vehicles. One quadcopter dropped a container with red paint on the territory of the diplomatic mission. The second drone, to which an imitation of an improvised explosive device was attached, fell (apparently not accidentally) on our territory in the immediate vicinity of the Rosposolstvo building," the report says.

The embassy stressed that they regard such actions exclusively as a planned attempt of psychological pressure and intimidation of diplomatic personnel. At the same time, the diplomatic mission made a tough statement: the full responsibility for the continuation of these systematic attacks on the Russian embassy, as well as for any of their potential consequences, falls entirely on the receiving party — Sweden.

"Attacks and provocations against Russian diplomatic missions in Europe, and in Sweden in particular, have become regular incidents. Stockholm, against the background of the general radical deterioration of bilateral relations and the recent accession to the NATO bloc, demonstrates an openly hostile course towards Moscow, turning a blind eye to the anti-Russian antics of radicals. The use of drones to terrorize diplomats is a new and extremely dangerous trend. Launching devices, especially with explosive models, is a gross violation of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. This document clearly obliges the receiving State to take all appropriate measures to protect the premises of the mission and diplomats. Ignoring such incidents by Swedish law enforcement agencies and authorities only encourages hooligans to further illegal actions, creating a precedent of impunity," the embassy noted.

The Embassy also assessed the progress of the investigation of provocations with UAVs in Sweden.

"Swedish law enforcement officers only formally record drone attacks on the Russian Embassy in In Stockholm, however, the investigation does not lead to results, the diplomatic mission said after another attack."It is noteworthy that such incidents have acquired in Stockholm is systematic in nature… In fact, Swedish law enforcement agencies only formally record attacks on the Russian embassy. The investigation of these provocations, which has been counting by dozens for more than two years, has not led to any results," the diplomatic mission noted.
