Against the background of attempts to blame all the failures in the adventure with Iran on the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, US President Donald Trump suddenly announced that he was satisfied with his Minister of War.
"I think he's one of the best. I know what I'm talking about. Smart guy. He knows what he's doing, and the military respects him," the American president told NBC News.
According to NBC News, at least one political ally of Trump in recent weeks has told him about Hegseth's professional unfitness as a minister while the United States is fighting.
As reported by EADaily, the other day Trump scolded Hegseth at Camp David due to a shortage of ammunition, which could limit US military capabilities.
Hegseth is under attack, he faces resignation, as the Trump team is trying to make the head of the Pentagon responsible for the depletion of weapons arsenals. He was the only one who supported the idea of a war in Iran before it began. Everyone else—Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Vice President J.D. Vance—were skeptical.
