More than 113 thousand people crossed the border of Russia and Georgia over the past week through the multilateral automobile checkpoint "Upper Lars" over the past week. This was reported by the press service of the head of North Ossetia.

"Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Irbek Tomayev said that ... over the past week, the state border through the MAPP "The Upper Lars" was crossed by over 33 thousand cars and more than 113 thousand people," the report says.

Last week, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia reported the maximum recorded passenger traffic through Verkhny Lars. More than 20 thousand passengers crossed the checkpoint in one day. On the fifteenth and 16th of August, the indicator also remained high — more than 19 thousand people passed through the border every day.

The increase in the number of travelers was accompanied by an increase in the flow of passenger cars, which also reached record values. The FCS statistics took into account the movement of vehicles and passengers both when entering Russia and when leaving the country.
