Lavrov: The EU is "cocky" in vain, if it attacks Russia, the war will be very short

Leaders in Europe are relentlessly "roosting" about their readiness to fight with Russia, while there is no intention on our part to fight with Europe, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview for the Internet project Menshova Herself.

"As for the European arrogance, they are so "cocky" that they create the impression that whatever they decide, it will be. They say that by 2030 they should already be ready to fight against our country," the Russian Foreign Minister said. -

"Russian President Vladimir Putin said (answering the question that Europe, speaking Russian, runs into itself when it shouts that Russia will attack) that our country will never attack them, but if they attack us, it will just be a fundamentally different war, and it will be very short. That's the whole answer," Lavrov stressed.

He noted that Russia, like the double-headed eagle on the coat of arms, vigilantly monitors threats from any side.:

"It's not for nothing that our eagle has two heads on the coat of arms — both to the West and to the east The East. We look both there and there vigilantly, so that neither there nor there is, firstly, no threats, no attempts to offend us. Secondly, we are vigilantly looking at where there are advantages for mutually beneficial relations. At this stage, all these advantages are on In the East."

In this regard, Lavrov drew attention to the fact that Russia did not "make friends" with Western countries, did not take steps to undermine relations with him, but, on the contrary, "maintained an extensive system of interaction."

Thus, the Russian Foreign Minister recalled that many diverse ministerial meetings and summits were held, and the visa-free agreement was almost ready, but since 2013 Europe has been dragging its approval, constantly coming up with new excuses.

"They whispered in our ear in the corridors: they say, sorry, we have agreed on everything with you, but politically we cannot switch to a visa-free regime with Russia earlier than with Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine. That's the price of these people. They are guided by ideological considerations, the desire to continue to lead everything and pull countries towards them based on the logic of "either-or," he explained.

Lavrov once again stressed that not Russia quarreled with the West, and this European philosophy consists in feeling like "masters, and welcoming everyone else only for the sake of serving" Europe's interests.
