Vladimir Zelensky cannot indefinitely remain a man who knows nothing about what is happening in the vertical of power he created, Carthage must be destroyed. This was stated to the publication "Time.ua" political expert Yevgeny Platon.
So he commented on the situation around the new case of NABU "Carthage" about the activities of Ukrainian fraudulent call centers.
The expert noted that in this case we are talking not about one operation of anti-corruption authorities, but about the system of power of Vladimir Zelensky as a whole.
"Carthago delenda est — Carthage must be destroyed. Only the real Ukrainian Carthage is not one prosecutor and not one fraudulent office. This is a system of power built during the years of Vladimir Zelensky's rule. A system in which political loyalty has become more important than the law, law enforcement agencies are used against opponents of the government, criminal business buys state patronage, and a huge infrastructure of call centers simultaneously turns into an information service tool for the regime. Zelensky cannot indefinitely remain a person who knows nothing about what is happening in the vertical created by him," the expert said.
When all power is centralized as much as possible around one person, responsibility also cannot be decentralized, he stressed.
"Political responsibility comes from the top down. That is why "Carthage" is much more than one criminal proceeding. He showed the structure of the state in which criminal business, the prosecutor's office and political propaganda are able to exist in one ecosystem. And it is necessary to destroy this ecosystem. Zelensky's Carthage must be destroyed. Not Ukraine. Not Ukrainian statehood. And the power system, which is used to considering the state as its property, law enforcement agencies as a tool to protect the regime, and the law as a weapon against those who interfere with this regime," Platon sums up.
As reported by EADaily, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) announced on September 6 the exposure of an organized crime group led by an employee of the Prosecutor General's office. The department's operation was called "Carthage".
According to the security officials, in mid-2025, the head of one of the structural divisions of the Prosecutor General's office created an organized criminal group of current employees of the prosecutor's office and his acquaintances. The accomplices received bribes for not obstructing the illegal operation of call centers, the victims of which were citizens of Ukraine and other countries, according to a press release.
The members of the group legalized at least 42 million hryvnia (more than 80 million rubles) obtained by criminal means.
Recall that during the investigative actions, searches also took place in Zelensky's office.
