Ukrainian pilot Vladislav Voloshin has shot himself to death in the city of Nikolayev. Voloshin was the man whom his colleague Yevgeny Agapov accused of being involved in making the Malaysian Boeing 777 crash that occurred on July 17, 2014.
All Voloshin’s family was at home when the shot was heard. Doctors tried to save his life, but he died at hospital. As his relatives said, he had been depressed several days before the accident, spoke of troubles at work.
In 2016, media reported about pilot of 299th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Air Task Force Vladislav Voloshin who was awarded a medal “For Bravery” of the 3rd grade two days after the catastrophe. According to evidence of Voloshin’s colleague air mechanic Yevgeny Agapov, the самолёт Boeing 777 was shot down by a Su 25 plane of the Ukrainian Armed Forces that was piloted by Captain Voloshin.
Since January 2018, Voloshin was director of the Nikolayev International Airport. The previous director was detained in an attempt to give a bribe to the governor, however, Ukrainian media repeatedly reported that his trouble were caused by his refusal to sign unlawful documentation. Pilot Voloshin signed those documents right after being appointed acting director of the airport.
