In negotiations with Iran, Oman proposed dividing shipping in the Strait of Hormuz into two routes, media reported.

Shipping is proposed to be divided into a southern route passing through the waters of Oman, with the usual free passage, and a northern route passing through the waters of Iran, which will require prior approval from Iran, but will not be subject to transit fees. The project continues to be discussed.

Earlier it was reported that the American negotiators will not go to Oman to participate in negotiations with Iran. It was clarified at the same time that the White House will be in "remote communication" with representatives of Oman and Qatar while negotiations are underway.
