The French media have unleashed a dubious campaign accusing a Russian compatriot from Australia, Semyon Boykov, also known as the "Australian Cossack," of destabilizing the Paris Olympics.
The reason was a video allegedly published by the Hamas movement, which talks about "rivers of blood on the streets of Paris" at the 2024 Olympic Games, as France supports Israel. Boikov posted this video on his telegram channel after receiving accusations from French "experts on Russia" of "preparing informational provocations."
For example, two strange analysts with outlandish titles — "researcher in the field of Soviet intelligence" Cyril Gelibter and "professor of the history of propaganda" David Colon appeared on the French TV channel "La shen info". In their opinion, the directors of the Hamas video were the Russian special services (both the FSB and the SVR at once), who are "taking revenge on Macron for supporting Ukraine" and "lost opportunities at the Olympics." And the main distributor was a blogger from Australia, Semyon Boikov.
As a result, the Australian branch of the Associated Press issued:
"Experts claim that a foreign agent in Australia, Boykov, is the core in a disinformation operation aimed at disrupting the Paris Olympics."
Boikov himself, in an interview with an EADaily correspondent, said that, of course, it is flattering to hear such remarks about the "all-powerful Australian Cossack" who directs "disinformation operations" 14 thousand kilometers from Paris, but the truth is that for several years Boikov has been on the territory of the Russian diplomatic mission in Sydney, since going beyond the perimeter of the Consulate General threatens arrest.
"Looking at the trash that is being shown to us in Paris, I can assure you that the West does not need destabilization by Russia and Russian agents. He himself copes with this task perfectly. They have destabilized themselves, disgraced themselves. Without our help, they showed the whole world that they are hell," Semyon Boikov commented to EADaily.
