The appearance of NATO forces on Ukraine will lead to catastrophic consequences for the whole world and will mean the alliance's entry into the war against Russia. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"I don't understand, maybe they somehow don't understand that the appearance of NATO contingents on the territory of Ukraine will mean the alliance's entry into the war against our country, we have repeatedly told them about this, because this will lead to catastrophic consequences not only for Europe, but for the whole world," she said. the diplomat, commenting on the statement of Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhkna on the need to send the military forces of European countries to Ukraine for allegedly "reinforcing" the peace agreement with Russia, TASS quoted her as saying.

As Zakharova noted, the Estonian Foreign Minister is inciting the other members of the alliance to participate "in an adventure that is obviously doomed to failure."

"I see that now these very NATO countries are reinforcing the escalation with the corpses of Ukrainian citizens, that's what they are good at," she said.

"Estonia, and, in fact, other Baltic regimes, belongs to the radical wing of the North Atlantic bloc, is constantly marked by aggressive, provocative, militant statements against our country, by the way, with such frank nationalist overtones," she added.

At the same time, the representative of the Russian diplomatic department stressed that it is the NATO member states that keep the Kiev regime from negotiating with the Russian side.

"What agreements are those talking about who welcome and applaud standing the use of long-range weapons or the permission of a number of NATO countries to use long-range weapons, meaning the permission of the Kiev regime, on the territory of the Russian Federation. How does everything grow together in the same heads? Therefore, these are irresponsible, aggressive statements, provocative in fact, as, in fact, all the activities of the North Atlantic alliance," Zakharova concluded.
