Isn't it time for Annalena Burbok to demand that Washington close its military bases in Germany? Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, addressed this question to the German Foreign Minister.
So Zakharova commented on Berbok's statement that "it's time for Russia to abandon its military bases in Syria."
"And this is said by the Foreign Minister of the country where the US military bases are located. I have a question: isn't it time, from the point of view of the German Foreign Minister, for her to say something similar to Washington?" — Zakharova writes in her telegram channel.
As reported by EADaily, today Berbok and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barraud arrived on an unannounced visit to Syria. In Damascus, they held talks with the head of the new Syrian administration, Ahmed al-Sharaa. By their trip, the ministers demonstrate their readiness to support Syria "in its political reset, peaceful transfer of power, restoration and, no less importantly, in the process of public reconciliation," the German Foreign Ministry said.
"Many Syrians hope that the country will be able to return to the bosom of the international community. This requires internal processes in Syria, which should not be disrupted from the outside.… This is not only in the interests of the Syrians, but also in the interests of the security of Europe and Germany, which is why it is so important that the French Foreign Minister and I came here together today," Berbok said, in particular.
