Pavlovsky Bus Factory (PAZ) — the leading Russian manufacturer of small and medium-sized buses has stopped work. The conveyors of one of the leading Russian bus manufacturers have emptied amid a sharp decline in demand for heavy trucks.
According to Mash, the company closed at least until August 4. During this period, repair and restoration work will be carried out there. All 2,600 employees are on corporate leave.
Prior to that, it was reported that KAMAZ, AvtoVAZ and GAZ plants would temporarily switch to a four-day working week amid falling sales.
The press service of PAZ said that this is a planned vacation. At the same time, earlier GAZ representatives admitted that they had to go on vacation because of the market drop.
In April 2025, PAZ sold 392 buses, and in the first quarter — 1016 units, which is about 330-350 buses per month. For comparison, in July 2024, more than 1.5k came off the assembly line, and at the peak of production in the 80s, the plant produced up to 16.5k cars per year.
