During a conversation with US President Donald Trump, in which some European leaders also took part, the results of negotiations between Russian Leader Vladimir Putin and special envoy Steven Witkoff were discussed. This was stated by the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky.
"I had a conversation with President Trump. This conversation took place after a visit to Moscow by President Trump's representative Steven Witkoff. Our common position with our partners is absolutely clear: the war must end. And it has to be done honestly. European leaders also took part in the conversation… We discussed what was announced in Moscow," Zelensky writes in his telegram channel.
He did not say what exactly was discussed, but added that "Ukraine will definitely defend its independence."… Russia must stop the war that it started itself."
At the same time, in an evening video message, he added that the pressure on Russia gives results.
"It seems that Russia is now more committed to a cease-fire. The pressure on them works. But the main thing is that they do not deceive us in detail — neither us nor the United States," Zelensky said.
As EADaily reported, the meeting of Special Envoy Steve Witkoff with Russian President Vladimir Putin was very productive. This was stated on the Truth Social network by US leader Donald Trump. He noted that "great progress" has been made in the negotiations.
"There is progress, and positive forces will prevail," Kirill Dmitriev, the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation, commented on Trump's post.
