Four candidates from the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party suddenly died two weeks before the local elections. The German media write about this.
We are talking about 66-year-old Ralph Lange, 59-year-old Wolfgang Seitz, 71-year-old Wolfgang Klinger and 59-year-old Stefan Berendes.
"Elections are scheduled for mid—September in 427 municipalities of North Rhine-Westphalia. However, in four of them, the sudden death of candidates creates tension," the publication of the NOZ newspaper says.
It is noted that the ballots have already been sent out, and some people voted by mail. However, now the process will have to be carried out anew.
German economics professor Stefan Homburg found this suspicious and statistically almost impossible. He shared his opinion on his account in the social network X.
As EADaily reported, according to a recent survey by the INSA Institute, the rating of the "AfD" equaled the rating of the ruling bloc of the Christian Democratic and Christian Social Unions (CDU/CSU): both parties scored 25%.
