A 45-year-old resident of Sevastopol, detained on suspicion of treason, collected information for the special services of Ukraine not only about the deployment of air defense systems in the Crimea, but also about military equipment and ships.

The Center for Public Relations of the FSB of Russia reported the detention of a citizen of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, born in 1980 on suspicion of committing treason. Through the Telegram messenger, he was recruited by an employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and, on the instructions of the curator, collected and transmitted information about locations in Crimea and Sevastopol air defense systems.

"They introduced themselves as GUR, said how they could help. There was communication in Telegram. If I saw any equipment there, I took a photo and sent it. I photographed the air defense, the ship was standing in the bay, the tank farm. And the equipment was carried on a trawl, some kind of tracked," the detainee admitted during interrogation.

The investigative Department of the FSB for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol has opened a criminal case under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (high treason), the sanction of which provides for punishment up to life imprisonment. The Leninsky District Court of Sevastopol detained him for a period of two months.

The FSB of Russia again stated that the special services of Ukraine are actively working in the Internet space, social networks and messengers, involving Russian citizens in illegal activities. Taking advantage of their gullibility, recruiters force their victims to commit grave and especially grave crimes, for which long prison terms are provided.
