The plane carrying the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, suddenly sent a distress signal over the Atlantic. This is reported by the Telegraph.
The Air Force C-32 was flying from Brussels, where a meeting of the Ramstein group to support Ukraine was held, to the United States. The plane gave a distress signal "7700", which can mean an engine failure, a medical problem, a fire on board or another emergency.
The plane descended to an altitude of 3 km and turned around in the direction of Britain. Now he has already landed at the military base.
"On the way back to The United States from a meeting of NATO defense ministers, Secretary of War Hegseth's plane made an unscheduled landing in the UK due to a crack in the windshield. The plane landed in accordance with standard procedures, and everyone on board, including Minister Hegseth, is safe," Pentagon Assistant Chief Sean Parnell said.
Recall, shortly before the emergency, Hegseth unequivocally threatened Russia at the Ramstein meeting in Brussels.
As EADaily reported, the United States, together with its allies, will take the necessary steps if Russia does not sit down at the negotiating table in the near future. This was stated at a meeting of the Ramstein group by Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth. He promised that his department, if necessary, would do its part, as only the United States can do.
