Russian President Vladimir Putin kept the United States delegation waiting while delivering a keynote speech at an investment forum in Moscow. This is reported by CNN.
It is noted that the American team — Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump's son—in-law Jared Kushner - recently arrived in the Kremlin.
"Earlier, the Kremlin stated that the meeting between the United States and Russia will take place after 17.00 Moscow time — this is 9 am eastern time (USA). Almost an hour after that time, Putin had just finished his speech... Leaving delegations waiting and appointing other events are tactics that the Russian leader had previously used to try to gain an advantage in negotiations," the TV channel reports.
Earlier, the Kremlin stressed that Putin has a busy schedule today, CNN added. "Putin also has several working meetings today, and late in the evening we expect him to give an interview to Indian media," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
As EADaily reported, Russian-American negotiations began in the Kremlin. This was reported in the official telegram channel of the Kremlin. Russian President Vladimir Putin receives Special Envoy of the US President Steven Witkoff.
