US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham❶ (listed in the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist) said that US President Donald Trump gave the "green light" to his bill to strengthen sanctions against Russia.
"After today's very productive meeting with President Trump on a number of issues, he gave the green light to a bipartisan bill on sanctions against Russia, which I have been working on for months with Senator (Richard) Blumenthal and many others," Graham wrote on the social network X.
The senator noted the "timeliness" of this decision.
Graham also expressed hope that the vote on the bill will take place "as early as next week."
Graham❶ and his Democratic colleague Blumenthal introduced this bill in early April last year.
